Catrice x Eman Bronzed AF Eyeshadow Palette Review:
Not sure who Eman is yet? She’s basically Egypt’s answer to Huda and Kylie. The Youtube beauty influencer teamed up with German drugstore makeup brand Catrice to create several face palettes. I tried the Bronzed AF Eyeshadow palette, which looks warm, creamy and oh so cozy. Luckily, my hazel eyes work very well with the four matte earthy tones and four shimmery and golden taupes.
While each shadow is highly pigmented and easy to blend, I found using a primer really makes the shades pop. You can see on my swatch picture, the shades with more primer pop out while the black shade toward the end (without as much primer) started to look washed out. So, either apply the shades with a wet brush or with a primer to get the full effect.
That said, the shadows are very easy to blend. They don’t look patchy and the formulas are forgivable even if you haven’t perfected the art of blending. Everything seems too good to be true, especially for the $11.99 price tag! The only problem I found is the shimmery shades have a lot of fallout. I found myself brushing off little speckles underneath my eyes and re-applying my concealer. Use these with eyeshadow guards or with extra powder under the eyes so you can brush the flakes off.
The shadows are long-lasting, especially when used with the primer and the package itself is high-quality, with a large mirror I actually ended up using during application!
Plus, if you’re an animal lover like I am, I’ve got some good news for you. The Catrice brand is cruelty-free! “This applies to the end products as well as to all ingredients. Our suppliers are also required to certify in writing that their products have been manufactured without testing on animals.”
