This Is How To Write a Blog Post FAST! 2

I’m the worst when it comes to creative writing. It’s not that I’m bad at writing, but it takes me a long time to come up with ideas and put them down on the page cohesively. With blogging, I sometimes need to write a blog post FAST to keep on schedule. This rushed process used to happen more often than I’d like, so I reorganized how I write and now have a ton of blog posts lined up for the weeks ahead.

So what’s the easiest way to be productive and to make a ton of content quickly? It’s going to sound simple, but it sooo works.

How you can write a blog post FAST (aka. the shortest how-to ever):

Get a timer.

Set it to 50 minutes.

Turn off your Internet, let your dog out, turn off your phone, lock your door, go down to the basement if you have to, lock yourself in a little closet and start writing.

Seriously nothing should be in front of you except for a blank white page.

You can do some preliminary work and have a few subjects ready on your blank, white page. Those are the only writing prompts that you need. That’s it.

Start writing and don’t stop until the timer goes off. Now, set the timer for 10 minutes, and take a nice break from all that writing. When your break is over, set it for 50 minutes again and start writing like you did the first time.

These two hours that you spend writing will produce a week of content for you. How freakin’ amazing is that?? Seriously- two hours! And they’re not even a full two hours. If you spend two days a week doing this exercise, you’ll have a long list of posts lined up for the weeks ahead.

Two hours is NOTHING in the grand scheme of things. You used to do two hours of homework when you got back from a long day at school, so you can totally do two hours of “homework” on a topic that you’re passionate about!

Let me know if you have any other productivity tools or tips you use for your blogging!
