Saint Jane Beauty Luxury CBD Beauty Serum Review

Product: Saint Jane Beauty Luxury CBD Beauty Serum
Price: $125
Where to Buy: Sephora

Using It:

Cleanse your face thoroughly, and exfoliate if you prefer, for a clean surface prior to application. You can apply the oil in the mornings and evenings, though the consistency makes it better for use in the evenings only. Shake the bottle, then apply a full dropper on the face, neck, and décolletage.

Saint Jane Beauty Luxury CBD Beauty Serum Review:

I really wanted to love this little vial of what seems to be pure, natural goodness. Alas, not everything natural is meant to go on your face, especially in a strong combination. I’m biased since I tend to prefer lightly-scented or “clean” smelling products or simply unscented altogether. Fragrance has a bad rep in beauty and skincare for a reason- it does absolutely nothing for your skin and may cause adverse reactions and intolerances later on.

On first whiff, I felt like this is what smelling salts might be when someone faints. This scent is STRONG, so prepare yourself. Strong doesn’t mean bad, and of course, the expensive little vial tries its best to appeal to the higher-end audience. But it was so strong, I wasn’t sure I wanted to use it again.

Then comes the consistency. It just kind of sat on my face after application. I applied it on a freshly cleansed and exfoliated skin, which tends to be normal and slightly sensitive. I really wanted it to do its job since it’s such an expensive little vial, so I prepped well to give it a good chance. Then…we just sat there together, hanging out for the rest of the night. Yeah, the absorption was very slow, unfortunately, which is why I say you should probably leave the application until night-time.

There was a slight tingly sensation, which I’m not sure is the result of ingredients working or some sort of reaction to one of the fragranced oils. Fortunately, by the time I woke up in the morning, the oil was fully absorbed. I was pleasantly surprised at the nice glow, but I’m not sure if that was due to my derma-rolling over the oil the night before or the oil itself. Two days later, two pimples started forming on my face. That was my cue that the product was not for me. Unfortunately, the grapeseed oil is both amazing and comedogenic, and my skin flared up.

Would I purchase this again? Unfortunately not.

Notable Ingredients

Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Nut Butter, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Seed Extract, Vitus Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Cannabidiol (CBD), Rosa Canina(Rosehip) Seed Extract, Hippophae Rhamnoides (Seabuckthorn) Fruit Extract, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Seed Oil, Rosa Damascena (Rose) Flower Oil, Helichrysum Italicum(Helichrysum) Flower Oil, Cymbopogon Martinii V. Motia (Palmarosa) Leaf Oil, Santalum Spicatum (Sandalwood) Wood Oil, Boswellia Carterii (Frankincense) Resin Extract, Pelargonium Graveolens (Geranium) Leaf/Flower Oil, Commiphora Abyssinica (Myrrh) Resin Extract, Calendula Officinalis (Calendula) Flower Extract, Nardostachys Chinensis (Spikenard) Root Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Krameria Triandra (Rhatany) Root Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract.

  • Grapeseed oil is a great antioxidant, but it’s also comedogenic, so if your skin is acne-prone or oily, it might clog your pores and cause breakouts.
  • Rosemary leaf extract, though very low on the list, has great antibacterial and toning properties.
  • Though it’s alcohol-free, it is heavily fragranced and may cause irritation as a result.
