LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask Review:

This mask is the bee’s knees according to most beauty reviewers out there, but I would caution your use based on the weather and skin type. Although it might seem like a no-brainer for all dry lips, its use of alcohol and fragrance backfires with prolonged use.

I first tried the product during the warm summer months, getting really great results. I didn’t use it daily. The 2-3 times a week was enough to keep my lips smooth and hydrated, giving the product high marks.

My second time, this winter, turned out to be a different experience. I used the product religiously about 5-6 times a week, craving a seal and moisture in the dry, cold weather. I woke up to supple, moisturized lips, in the beginning, loving the smoothness. As time went on, I noticed my lips drying out more and more during the day. Before I knew it, I was treating chapped and dry cracks. I stopped using the product, and my lips went back to normal.

In short, this isn’t a product for everyday use and not something for cold, dry weather. It’s best used in the summertime, or occasionally, for a subtle smoothness boost. Better yet, use something else that actually works without long-term drying effects. I will not be repurchasing, especially since they’re not cruelty-free to boot.

This trusty overnight lip mask works for MOST, but there's an unexpected effect to watch out for. It's not the holy grail reviewers would like you to believe it is. #beautyreviews
