Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream Review:
As much as I want to continue using this product, I will not be repurchasing due to animal-testing policies. I prefer brands that do not participate in animal-testing whatsoever, which means opting out of mainland China sales. Kiehl’s sells in mainland China, and therefore tests their products on animals, effectively nullifying their stance as a vegan and cruelty-free brand.
That said, the texture is a nice balance between medium and thick consistency, where a little goes a long way. The product works very well on my skin, despite some ingredients having a high comedogenic rating. If you are prone to clogged pores and acne, try a sample out before committing. The salicylic acid helps mitigate some of the effects of clogged pores and keeps the complexion clear on normal skin.
No fragrance or alcohol in sight makes this a sensitive-skin friendly cream. My skin felt smooth and hydrated all day after applying this moisturizer. Kiehl’s, if you opt for complete cruelty-free practices, you’ll have me as a customer for life!

- Alcohol and fragrance-free!
- Kiehl’s is NOT a cruelty-free brand! They sell in mainland China, which means they consent to the government-required animal testing. All their products are therefore tested on animals.
- The salicylic acid acts as a mild exfoliant and anti-acne ingredient.
- Myristyl Myristate is very comedogenic and should be avoided if you have acne-prone skin.
