Farmacy Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask Review:

I wanted so badly to love this product. I adore the brand and what it stands for, from their natural, pure ingredients to their cruelty-free standing. Unfortunately, like the Pure Aura gold mask, my skin simply didn’t like the warming sensation and the concentration of these ingredients. I’m finding my skin turns bright red and irritated by a lot more of the natural ingredient brands out there than the synthetic formulas, unfortunately.

The first time I used it, I left the product on for 15 minutes. I should’ve been smarter than to do that, but I was so excited by the formula and the prospect of using it! The jar is beautifully made, with a gorgeous wooden cap adorning the glass container. It looks pretty sitting on the shelf.

I didn’t particularly enjoy glooping the mixture on my face, unfortunately. While it wasn’t a bad experience, I’m not a big fan of washing off goopy formulas from my hands and tools. Small price to pay though, am I right?

The warm, tingling sensation started a few minutes in. That means it’s working, right? It started to sting a bit more, but I’m no stranger to beauty products and methods causing a little pain.

Upon washing the mask off, my face was hot, red and desperately needing something to soothe it. I can’t report on the formula’s hydration properties, because my skin simply didn’t enjoy the benefits of the ingredients. Could it be the ginger root extract causing the irritation? I’m not trying it again to find out. I followed up with my GM Collin mask to soothe my irritated face before passing off the jar to my husband, whose oily skin absolutely loves it.

If your skin is even remotely sensitive, do a patch test before committing fully. Those who do not suffer from sensitive skin tout the many benefits this little jar provides, from smooth skin to supple hydration. I guess us sensitives will never know.
