Inspiration: Urban streets

New York City! It’s been my home and source of inspiration for the past 20 years. I’m proud to say its streets are the basis of Nicole Miller’s Spring 2016 collection. The usually prim and properly lovely designer made space for true grit this season.

Grafitti adorned opening numbers gave an edge to flirty silhouettes. A string of black and white punition-graffiti print helped the looks into a more grown-up category by ensuring consistency and monochromatic safety.

The ultimate marriage between the opening looks and the safety of the black and white came in the form of the closing sequined sheath and column dress. The standout sparklers contained plenty of whimsy and edge while retaining all the prettiness a Nicole Miller girl desires.
