The New Yorker in Me Likes to Wear Big, Gray Layers

I can’t help it. The title of the post says it all. No matter how much I try, I always end up coming back to the trust gray layers. I tried to break out of the mold here by wearing burgundy Derek Lam booties and busting out a mustard colored Coach bag. Even my dog is ashamed of the fact that mommy can’t seem to grasp colors.

Speaking of Walter and mommy walking Walter, if you have a dog who pulls, I highly recommend getting a gentle leader leash for him/her. One, it stops him from pulling hard and choking himself, and two, it’s a training tool to make sure he doesn’t continue pulling.

Back to my outfit. Here’s the deal: the all gray look is pretty much a signal to other New Yorkers that you belong in New York. Like, no-one is about to confuse you for a tourist if you show up in all black or all gray. So if you’re ever visiting and want to make sure you don’t get hit up by the plethora of street ticket hawkers, learn to walk fast and wear all gray/black.

I spoke about going to Japan this week in March. Due to a lot of different things and imperfect timing, the trip got moved to late April. So, I’ll be posting those pics in late April and in May. My birthday is in three days, and I’m not looking forward to it at all. I’m actually not thinking about it..other than right now obviously.

Also, I stole this coat from my husband. That is all.
