My style was a healthy mix of punk and goth in my teens. I’m well acquainted with ripped fishnets, combat boots, and see-through black on black on black. I’ve expanded my style bubble significantly since then by incorporating color, but I still play dress-up with plenty of dark layers. My adult life includes chiffon floor-sweeping skirts, and avant-garde Maison Margiela dresses instead of thrift-store finds, however. It’s the beauty of growing up.
I’m still very much into layering. This time around, it’s dresses paired up with under-skirts, to create casual “gowns.” The Maison Margiela blazer dress paired with the vintage chiffon skirt is a perfect high-low mix. The Chloe platform pumps give a boost while keeping me comfortable. As always, I tried to provide exact matches where I could, with a few alternatives that are in a lower price range. The cuff, necklace and zigzag ring were part of a Rocksbox set. To receive a free month enter STYLETOMESXOXO.
