Stimulate the scalp
It all comes from the scalp. Invest in massaging your scalp every time you shower. While it may seem like a lot in the moment, 5 minutes a session translates into inches of growth. Once a week, massage eucalyptus or peppermint oil into the scalp for an extra tingle and blood flow into the area.
Wash sparingly
Choose natural and gentle options for cleansing the hair, and stick to 2-3 washes a week. This allows for natural oils in the scalp to nourish strands.
Condition liberally
Condition every time you shower! Again, choose natural. Conditioning, unlike shampooing, deposits moisture and nourishes strands to a healthy and strong shine. Don’t be afraid of the conditioner. It ultimately translates into less breakage and longer growth.
Eat healthy
This one’s a pretty large ‘catch-all’, but there’s a reason it’s so widely mentioned. While it’s not easy to radically switch your diet on a whim (we recognize that’s a lifestyle change), you can do small steps to slowly change routine. Start off by getting a multivitamin and taking it daily. If you’re already doing so, make a pact with yourself to eat one extra fruit a day with your breakfast, lunch or dinner. Your hair (and skin) will thank you.
