DIY Rose Petal Scrub to Exfoliate and Moisturize at Same Time

As many of you who follow Style Tomes social media accounts may know, I’ve been traveling a LOT lately. As a result, my skin took a beating and lost its usual moisture and luster. While I love pampering myself, sometimes I just want one product to take care of everything for me with minimal effort. I also want it to be luxurious and smell good. That usually means a pretty hefty price tag, except this time I went the DIY route.

I bought a bouquet of flowers several days back, and the roses started to wilt and lose their petals. I plucked off the rest and set them next to a windowsill to dry. Then I combined turbinado sugar ( coarse sugar works best) and almond oil with the crushed, dry petals as well as some rose water for the scent. The result was a perfect consistency scrub that did its job at exfoliation and moisturized my skin at the same time! Seriously, you won’t need to moisturize after. Pat dry after your shower, and you’re good to go. Feel free to add any other essential oils or scents to spiff up your scrub.

DIY Rose Almond Body & Face Scrub

– 1 cup raw sugar (brown or turbinado)

– 1/2 cup almond oil

– 1/2 cup crushed dried rose petals

– 3 tablespoons rosewater or any other essential oils

Combine all ingredients in a jar and shake very well until thoroughly combined!
